DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys have been without their star right tackle La'el Collins for multiple weeks due to a suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
The suspension, which resulted from Collins missing a series of drug tests in the 2020 season, is currently set at five games.
Now, in his search to find a way back to the field, Collins' attorney has filed a request for a restraining order and an injunction in order to block the suspension, according USA Today.
Per Jori Epstein, the argument from Collins and his representation suggests that the arbitrator in the case was "clearly (misled) the arbitrator at the Hearing and the arbitrator relied on the NFL’s misrepresentations in reaching his Award decision."
In response, the NFL has called the accusations by Collins' representation "meritless."

Collins, who has played in just one game dating back to the 2019 season, has now served three games of that five-game suspension, and is eligible to return for the October 31 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
