DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys defense suffered a significant set back on Wednesday, when veteran linebacker Keanu Neal was added to the Reserve/COVID-19 List.
The Cowboys could now be without Neal for their home opener against the NFC East Division rival Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
According to reports, Neal did not test positive but is considered a high-risk contact, and since he is not fully vaccinated, he is forced to enter the protocol.
Neal is the 11th Cowboy to enter protocol since the beginning of August.
Dallas has already been hit relatively hard by the COVID-19 list so far this season, with offensive linemen Zack Martin and Brandon Knight forced to miss the Week 1 loss to Tampa Bay, and defensive end Randy Gregory forced to miss the win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2.
In order for Neal to be available for Monday night's game, he will have to produce two consecutive negative tests that are separated by at least 24 hours.
The Cowboys and Eagles will kick off at 7:15 PM on Monday.
