DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch suffered a fractured clavicle in Sunday night's season opening loss to the Rams, the team announced following the game.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Cowboys will place Vander Esch on injured reserve. He'll undergo surgery and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.
Vander Esch left the game in the first half and a subsequent X-ray confirmed the fracture.
Joe Thomas replaced him in Sunday night's game.
Vander Esch played only in nine games in 2019 and had surgery on his neck in the offseason.
