The Cowboys are losing their starting left guard from last season, as Connor McGovern has agreed to a three-year, $23 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports Monday.
McGovern, who the Cowboys selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, started 29 games over the last three seasons for Dallas. McGovern suffered a pectoral injury in the spring in 2019 and didn't appear in any games that season.
With McGovern now out of the picture, the Cowboys could have Tyler Smith start at left guard as long as Tyron Smith returns next season, which Dallas is anticipating.
As was the case last offseason, Dallas needs to add depth to offensive line behind the Smiths, center Tyler Biadasz, and right guard Zack Martin and right tackle Terence Steele.
