DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys free-agent tight end Blake Bell has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Kansas City Chiefs, the team announced Thursday.

Bell, a former Oklahoma Sooner, served as the backup to Travis Kelce in Kansas City in 2019. He'll look to regain that role with the Chiefs in 2021.

Bell signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys last offseason, joining Dalton Schultz as a depth option behind the starter Blake Jarwin.

Despite Jarwin suffering a torn ACL in the team's season opener, Bell wasn't given much of an opportunity to make plays on offense, catching just 11 passes for 110 yards. That role went to Schultz, who had a career-high 63 receptions for 615 yards.

Jarwin is expected to be ready for the 2021 season.
