Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott continues to practice with the team despite being in the final year of his contract.
While the spotlight has been on Cowboys start wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who remains a holdout from training camp, the Cowboys continue to work on contract extensions with both players, the team's COO and EVP Stephen Jones said in an interview with Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com.
"Ongoing. They're evolving. I know everybody likes them to be done immediately," Jones said when asked how negotiations were going with representatives of both stars. "As I said it's a challenge for us. In terms of working three of the better football players in this league. Trying to get them in a situation where they're happy and it works for us as well. We'll continue to work, pencils are up, we're working hard at it. Hopefully, we'll continue to make some progress and get one or two of these guys done."
Prescott confirmed that both parties were hard at work when asked how negotiations were going following Thursday's practice.
“Good conversations are going on,” Prescott said, via Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com. “Lots of good things are going on there. I’ve got a lot of confidence in my guys and these guys in getting things done.”
