DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had an invitation to be a part of the Pro Bowl festivities this weekend in Las Vegas but he elected to turn it down, 105.3 The Fan's Bobby Belt reports.
ESPN's Todd Archer was the first to report the news on Monday.
Instead, quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins were added to the NFC roster on Monday as injury replacements for Tom Brady (shoulder) and Aaron Rodgers (toe).
Per Belt, Prescott decided not to play the NFL's version of the All-Star game so he could rest his body after dealing with calf and shoulder ailments that popped up during the season. He also spent the entire 2021 offseason rehabbing his surgically repaired ankle.
Prescott threw for 4,449 yards and had 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His 54.5 QBR in 2021 was the lowest of his career but saw him finish just outside the top-10 (11th) among starting quarterbacks.
The Cowboys will still be well represented at the game, as wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was added as an injury replacement earlier Monday, joining cornerback Trevon Diggs, guard Zack Martin, offensive tackle Tyron Smith, linebacker Micah Parsons and punter Bryan Anger, who were all previously voted onto the NFC roster.
