DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - One of the biggest questions heading into the 2021 Dallas Cowboys preseason, was whether or not we would see Dak Prescott take the field.
On Friday afternoon in Oxnard, Prescott and Mike McCarthy both answered that question for us, with a resounding yes, confirming that he would indeed see time on the field at some point before the regular season.
“I think it’s important, but I always think it’s important," McCarthy said in the training camp press conference. "I anticipate Dak playing in the preseason.”
Prescott, of course, is coming off of a brutal season-ending injury that he suffered in week five of the 2020 regular season against the New York Giants that forced him to undergo an extensive rehab process.
“I definitely want to play," Prescott told reporters at the press conference. “I obviously want to get out there and get some reps before it’s real.”
Before being injured last season, Prescott was on a record-setting pace throwing the football for the Cowboys, completing a career-best 68-percent of his passes for 1,856 yards and nine touchdowns in just 4.5 games -- putting him on pace to throw for over 6500 yards and 36 touchdowns.
Prescott will get his first opportunity to see the field on Thursday, August 5, when the Cowboys travel to Canton, Ohio to participate in the annual Hall of Fame game.
