DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys brought back one of their own late on Thursday night, re-signing slot corner Jourdan Lewis to a 3-year deal.
Lewis's agency, VIP Sports Management, made the announcement via their twitter account.
The deal, which is worth up to $16.5 million, including $8 million guaranteed. Lewis can $1 million in incentives each season, and his $3 million salary has an injury guarantee.
Lewis, who has been in Dallas for four seasons, was selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Michigan -- the same draft that brought the Cowboys the recent departed Chidobe Awuzie, and safety Xavier Woods.
In his four seasons, Lewis has been known as a playmaker on the back end, very often finding himself in the right place at the right time, if given the opportunity.
Whether it is a big-time tackle, pass deflections (19 for his career), a fumble recovery (four in his career), or an interception (four in his career), Lewis has always carried that intangible skill with him during his tenure.
Lewis now re-joins a rebuilding secondary, that has lost key players such as Byron Jones, Jeff Heath, and the aforementioned Awuzie in the last two seasons.
