Cowboys react to losing Dak Prescott for the season: 'It just sucks'

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dak Prescott's teammates and coaches offered their support for their quarterback after they learned that he'll miss the rest of the season with a serious ankle injury.

Ezekiel Elliott:

"It sucks. It sucks. I know we won. It just sucks to lose Dak, our leader. I was just talking to the guys, it's going to take all of us. It's going to take all of us to fill that void we're going missing. I'm going to support him, I'm going to be there for him. We all are. This whole team will, and we're going to go play for him."

DeMarcus Lawrence:

"In the Bible, it says the Lord won't put you through anything you can't bear. Dak is a hell of a player, a hell of a guy. His personality is outstanding. It's all high flying colors with Dak, and there's really nothing bad you can say about the man. I support him, this team supports him and I can't wait until he gets back."

Mike McCarthy:

"I feel terrible for him. He was having a tremendous year. He's made such an impression on me. He's the leader of this team. ... This will just be another chapter in a great story. He's a fine young man and an outstanding quarterback."

Jaylon Smith:

"Devastating when you lose your No. 1. I know how it feels. I've experienced it myself. I know Dak is a fighter. Just looking forward to hearing his voice. ... When that happened, everything was about No. 4. It was about getting that win for him."

CeeDee Lamb after texting Dak to offer his support:

"I appreciate everything he's done for me. I can't thank him enough. I told him we're gonna hold it down until we get to see him on the field with us again."

Andy Dalton:

"You never want anything to happen, but you got to stay ready. That's what I've done, I've stayed ready. You want to have the opportunity to play. I knew the situation I was in. Just trying to do my best to support Dak. ... I feel like I was preparing for these moments. I hate to see that for him. It's emotional. I'm definitely praying for him. ... It's been a lot of fun being around him this year. I just hate it for him."
