The Dallas Cowboys released their first unofficial depth chart on Tuesday, as they prepare to face the Los Angeles Rams in their season opener on Sunday Night Football this weekend.
As one might expect with so much turn over from last year, both on the roster and in the coaching staff, there were a few surprises on the list.
Along the defensive front, for example, Trysten Hill won a starting job over Antwaun Woods at defensive tackle, while Tyrone Crawford is listed as a starter at defensive end over the likes of Everson Griffin.
At linebacker, Aldon Smith seems to be the selection at strongside linebacker, though he would likely be used primarily as a pass rusher out of that spot.
In the secondary, Anthony Brown and Trevon Diggs were listed as the starting corners, while Darian Thompson earned a starting spot at safety over Donovan Wilson.
