Cowboys safety Donovan Wilson suffered a strained right calf in Wednesday's practice and will miss 4-6 weeks, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.
Archer adds that "the belief is" Wilson will be available to play when the Cowboys open the season at the New York Giants Sept. 10.
Wilson limped to the sideline early in the Cowboys' first training camp practice before being looked at in the blue medical tent. He emerged from the tent and was taken off the field on a cart to undergo an MRI.
Wilson signed a three-year extension with Dallas worth $24 million this offseason after posting a career year in 2022, totaling 101 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
