The Cowboys locked up another key member of their defense to a long-term contract on Friday, agreeing to a three-year extension with safety Malik Hooker worth $24 million, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Friday. The deal includes $16.5 million guaranteed and an $8 million signing bonus.
Hooker, 27, has spent the past two seasons with the Cowboys after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Colts. Hooker becomes the second member of the team's secondary to receive a new contract during training camp. Cornerback Trevon Diggs recently signed a five-year, $97 million extension.
Hooker had three interceptions, three passes defended, 62 total tackles and one fumble recovery in 16 games played last season.
