DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys have added another depth piece to their offensive line on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, selecting North Carolina offensive tackle, Asim Richards with the No. 169 pick.
Richards should come in and compete for a spot on the roster behind Terence Steel, Tyler Smith and Tyron Smith, and will likely be deployed as a swing tackle when he is on the field.
Standing 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, Richards is known for being light on his feet and is athletic with a basketball background. He excels in zone blocking schemes and taks good angles in run blocking.
Richards has long arms and a heavy punch, and his wide base helps him battle speed rushers on the edge when pass blocking.
Last season with the Tarheels, Richards gave up just three sacks.
