DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 19-9 on Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium, moving them to 7-3 on the year, and leaving them still in a firm search for their first signature win over the season.
To be fair, the Cowboys have been mostly dominant throughout the first half of the season, winning six in a row from weeks two through eight, and taking the Atlanta Falcons to task in a 43-3 win last weekend.
However, the one thing this team still lacks that it needs to cement itself as a true Super Bowl contender, is a win over a power team.
Thus far in 2021, they have had two chances to reach that goal.
In week one, they fell in agonizing fashion to the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Sunday was that second chance, and they once again fell in a frustrating manner.
As the season continues, Dallas will face a largely lackluster schedule.
However, Dallas has one more opportunity to get that win coming in week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals, who currently sit at 8-2.
Until then, Dallas will continue to leans towards being more of a pretender than a contender in the NFC Super Bowl discussion.
The Cowboys will take the field once again on Thanksgiving Day when the Las Vegas Raiders come to AT&T Stadium. Kick-off is set for 4:30 PM.
