DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The biggest question mark coming out of the Cowboys' bye week was the health of quarterback Dak Prescott and whether or not he'd be ready to play against the Vikings on Sunday night football after he strained his right calf in the team's Week 6 win over the Patriots.
If Sunday were a playoff game, there would be no doubts about Prescott's prospects of playing, the quarterback said Thursday during a visit with the media.
The game is still very important, but it's not a playoff game. With 11 games to go, Dallas is 5-1 and in the hunt for the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC playoff picture. But despite his desire to play and to give his team the best chance to win, Prescott is leaving his status up to the Cowboys' training staff.

"If it was my call, and if it was totally up to me,” Prescott said he’d be out there playing, via David Helman of DallasCowboys.com. "It’s not fully my decision because there is a bigger picture. It’s more than just one game.”
Prescott went on to say that he feels confident that he can play this Sunday because he pushed himself in practice Thursday and had no issues. He had been limited to individual drills in Wednesday's practice.
Prescott expects a decision to be made on his playing status before the team heads to Minnesota on Saturday.
Backup quarterback Cooper Rush, who has received some of the first-team reps in practice this week, will get the start if Prescott can’t suit up.
