DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Short on depth at the quarterback position, the Cowboys are bringing Cooper Rush back into the fold, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
Dallas is expected to sign Rush to their practice squad once he passes the COVID protocols and his physical.
Rush, 26, went undrafted out of Central Michigan in 2017, but spent three years on the Cowboys’ roster or practice squad after signing with the team that summer. He appeared in two games in 2017, completing one of three passes for two yards and rushing twice for 13 yards, but did not play in either 2018 or 2019 and was waived in May when Dallas signed Andy Dalton.
Rush joined his former head coach Jason Garrett in New York but the Giants elected to cut him on Sep. 29.
