The Dallas Cowboys are already fending teams off as they try to hold on to defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, but on Wednesday, a serious threat has emerged.
According to multiple reports on Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks made a shocking decision, moving on from head coach Pete Carroll after 14 seasons with the team. Carroll will remain with the franchise in an advisory role.
And with that, Quinn has reportedly become one of that top candidates to replace Carroll in Seattle, having spent two separate stints with the team - the second of which as the defensive coordinator, helping the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII.
That season, Quinn led the Seahawks defense to historic heights, with the unit becoming the first since the 1985 Chicago Bears to lead the leageu in fewest points allowed (231), fewest yards allowed (4,378), and takeaways (39).
Over the past couple of seasons, he has also helped turn the Cowboys defense into one of the best in the NFL, playing a major role in the team's 12-5 record in each of the last three seasons.
Quinn has already been a subject of interest as well with the, Tennessee Titans, L.A. Chargers, Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders, each of whom have requested to interview him.
This will now be the third straight offseason in which Quinn will be a top candidate for a head coaching position, with the Cowboys being able to retain him in each of the last two years.
Most recently in January of last year, Quinn interviewed with the Broncos, Cardinals and Colts, before announcing his decision to return to Dallas.
