Ex-Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis agrees to deal with Jaguars

The Dallas Cowboys have lost their first free agent this offseason.

According to NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport, Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars on the opening day of free agency, including $20 million guaranteed.

Teams are permitted to negotiate with free agents but aren't able to officially sign players until March 12 at 3 p.m. CT.

Lewis, 29, is coming off the best season of his career. He wasn't named to the Pro Bowl despite consistently grading out as one of the best nickel corners in the NFL.

Lewis has spent his eight-year career in Dallas after the Cowboys selected him with the 92nd overall pick out of Michigan in 2017. Over that time, Lewis racked up 386 tackles, ten interceptions, nine fumble recoveries, 19 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks in 115 career games.
