Final injury report: Gallup out, Kearse Questionable, and Prescott in the clear

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys’ biggest question on the injury report this week now has clarity. The Buccaneers’ biggest question remains uncertain.

Michael Gallup and Chris Godwin, who are both recovering from torn ACL injuries at the end of the 2021 season, were participants in practice this week, but it wasn’t clear what their game status would be. Gallup has been ruled out on the final injury report, and Godwin is listed as questionable.

Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Gage is also listed as questionable for the game with a hamstring injury, but he is expected to play without limitations on Sunday night. Gage was one of the prized acquisitions of the Buccaneers’ offseason.

Dak Prescott was listed as a full participant at Friday’s practice following a limited practice on Thursday. He enters the season opener without an injury designation. Prescott told reporters on Thursday that his injury wasn’t serious, something that was echoed by owner and general manager Jerry Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy in interviews on 105.3 The Fan on Friday.

“[Dak] had some discomfort there, but it was checked out thoroughly,” Jones told The K&C Masterpiece. “[There’s] nothing to it.”

The only player listed as questionable for the Cowboys is safety Jayron Kearse, who appeared on the injury report Friday with a neck issue. Kearse appeared to be in some discomfort at practice on Thursday, and was listed as a non-participant on Friday.
