Report: Former Cowboys OT Cam Erving agrees to deal with Panthers

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal with former Cowboys offensive tackle Cameron Erving, Joe Pearson of The Athletic reports.

NFL free agency got underway Monday as teams were permitted to begin negotiations with players' agents at 11 a.m. CT. Players can't sign their contracts until March 17 at 3 p.m. CT.

Erving appeared in six games last season as the Cowboys dealt with several injuries to their offensive line.

According to 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher, the Erving won't be a big loss, as the Cowboys believe they have several internal options to replace Erving's role as a swing tackle.

The 28-year-old was a former first-round pick of the Browns in 2015 and was traded to Kansas City in 2017. He started 25 games at both guard and tackle with the Chiefs, before signing a one-year deal with the Cowboys last offseason.
