DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - For the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, things will be very simple.

Win and you're in.

That's right, should the Cowboys come away with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, they will clinch a playoff spot for the second season in a row - just the second time they have done so since 2006-2007.

However, there are also plenty of other scenarios in which the Cowboys can clinch their post season berth on Sunday.

Obviously, winning and taking care of business on their own accord is the easiest path, but the other four scenarios are all also rationally attainable.

The first alternative scenario would be a Cowboys tie with Jacksonville, in addition to a decision between the Giants and Commanders that DOES NOT end in a tie.

The next, would involve the a Cowboys tie, accompanied by a Seattle Seahawks loss on or tie on Thursday night against the 49ers.

Alternatively, a Seattle loss in conjunction with either a Detroit loss or tie, or a Washington loss to New York, would also send the Cowboys to the post season.

No matter what, the Cowboys are in position to clinch their playoff berth before Christmas, as long as they take care of business.

Dallas and Jacksonville take the field Sunday at noon from TIAA Bank Field.
