Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Ryan Flournoy has yet to make his NFL debut this season after Dallas selected him in the sixth round out of Southeast Missouri State. But that's about to change.
Flournoy will be active for Sunday's primetime matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers after veteran receiver Brandin Cooks was ruled out due to a knee infection.
During his weekly visit with the K&C Masterpiece on Friday, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he is "anxious to see him make his first catch with the Dallas Cowboys" and compared the rookie wideout to a former Cowboys star receiver.
"He may be something special for us. On a personal basis, he's got Dez Bryant stuff to him. Boy, is he an athlete. I'm glad to see him get this opportunity ... he could show out," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.
Flournoy dealt with a knee injury early in training camp, sparking concerns over his place on the roster. But upon his return, he had a strong camp and had seven catches for 53 yards and two touchdowns in two preseason games, cementing his roster spot.
"I am excited to show y'all," said Flournoy of his debut this Sunday, via DallasCowboys.com. "It's in here... *taps heart*. It's in here. Y'all will see."
