Jerry Jones explains why Cooper Rush will remain Cowboys starting QB vs. Panthers

The Dallas Cowboys aren't ready to turn the page on Cooper Rush despite having less than a 1 percent chance of making the playoffs following their 27-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night at AT&T Stadium.

"I don't think so, I thought for the most part we did some good things out there, I still believe [Cooper Rush] gives us our best chance," Jones said when asked if the team will turn to third-string quarterback Trey Lance this week against Carolina.

So, why isn't it time for Lance?

"Wins are important for us, very important for us. This is a young team. Cooper, we think, gives us our best chance. ... It's very important to go down here and beat Carolina for this team next year and the next year. And we've got a lot of young players out here that we want to get that experience," said Jones.

Rush completed only 16 of his 31 passes for 183 yards and had two touchdowns and one interception against a Bengals defense that ranks near the bottom of every defensive statistical catagory this season.
