Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones told reporters in Frisco on Wednesday that he is open to the possibility of trading up from the 24th pick in the NFL Draft.

Jones’ comments came after a press conference announcing the team’s new digital asset platform partnership with Blockchain.com.

Jones had been asked about his thoughts on trading up or down in this month’s draft, and made it clear that he isn’t opposed to making a move up.

“I would trade up since we’re down as low as we are in those first two or three rounds,” Jones said.

It’s been 10 years since the Cowboys last trade up in the first round, when they made a move to pick #6 in the 2012 draft to select LSU CB Morris Claiborne. Since that time the Cowboys have twice traded back (2013 and 2021) and traded away their first round pick for Amari Cooper (2019).

The Cowboys currently hold the 24th pick in the draft, which takes place in a little over two weeks. The last time the Cowboys made the 24th pick in the draft they selected Dez Bryant in 2010.
