DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys right tackle La'el Collins will begin the season on the short-term injured reserve list with a hip issue. But how long will he be out?
Team owner Jerry Jones discussed Collins' injury situation with the K&C Masterpiece Friday morning on 105.3 The Fan.
"I feel that the depth we have in our offensive line gives us a lot of flexibility. We have the ability to make up for Collins not being there. He's an outstanding player so you do miss him. But more importantly, we have some depth here that we've developed that you'll see out there Sunday.
"His initial challenge was conditioning. As he got ready to go, he developed a couple of other things. We're just playing that by ear and seeing how he's evolving. As you're aware, he won't be there for the first two or three games at this juncture."
As for who will replace Collins in the lineup, look for either Cameron Erving or Brandon Knight to step in his place.
