DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke at the NFL owner meetings on Monday, touching on a variety of subjects from recent weeks, including the breakdown of negotiations with former Cowboys defensive end, Randy Gregory.

And according to Jones, it was him, not Gregory, who made the final decision to let Gregory walk to a new destination.
"We have had no surprises. Literally, I was on the phone with Randy and his agent and I said 'El Paso,' that little West Texas town," Jones said. "I said 'El Paso - thank you but no thank you."
According to Jones, Gregory and his camp then preceded to try and negotiate further, but Jones declined.
He also stated that the Cowboys were able to improve based off of the money they saved from letting Gregory Walk.
"He said 'I'll go ahead and get on the plane'. So we could have done something there, and they asked if we would do that, and I didn't do it. And I didn't do it of my own volition. It's a call that, we'll just see. But we got at least three ore top players with what we would have spent there."
The Cowboys of course, were able to secure the contracts of Jayron Kearse, Dante Fowler, and Dorance Armstrong, following the departure of Gregory.
