DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - It's Friday morning at the time of this post and Dak Prescott's status for Sunday Night Football is still up in the air.
But Dr. Jerry Jones has something to say about that...
Shortly after head coach Mike McCarthy said that Prescott came into the building sore this morning after he pushed his injured right calf in Thursday's practice and his status wouldn't be determined till this weekend, Jones gave his assessment of where things stand with his star quarterback.
"I’d like to think Dak can go and will think that. We’ll see how things work at practice, but I’d say things are looking good right now about Dak," Jones said on the K&C Masterpiece on 105.3 The Fan.

And should Cowboys fans bet on his team after the point spread shifted Thursday afternoon from the Cowboys being favored by 2 1-2 points to the Vikings now being favored by 3 points?
"I'm not so sure how much of it is want to on my part or how much of it is factual. But we'll really need to see come Sunday, and that's a few days away, and we'll have to look at it at that time. But he’s preparing to play, and he'll be prepared to play, and he's doing really well. You get into 'is he doing well enough to go out there and try it and see how it goes, probably."
At this juncture, Prescott's status will probably come down to the wire on Sunday. The Cowboys could elect to sit him with the team sitting pretty with a 5-1 record and a big lead in the NFC East. But that doesn't mean Prescott isn't doing everything he can to state his case that he should be out on the field.
“It’s more than just one game. We’re obviously in our seventh game, so there is a ton of football left to play," McCarthy said. "He's confident. He doesn't waver. He wants to play and he wants to continue to work towards that."
