DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson has seen his fair share of good players over the years. However, according to Johnson, there might not be a better one than Cowboys linebacker, Micah Parsons.

During his Thursday appearance on 105.3 The Fan's Shan and RJ, Johnson heaped lots of praise onto Parsons, calling him one of the best players he has ever seen.

Seemingly even better than the player many consider to be the best defensive playmaker in NFL history - Giants outside linebacker, Lawrence Taylor.

“I watch him every week," Johnson told Shan and RJ. "I know my buddy Bill Belichick is gonna get mad at me, but (Parsons) may be the best player I’ve seen. Of course, Bill is gonna say Lawrence Taylor. But Micah Parsons amazes me. He’s a special individual.”

That is high praise indeed from Johnson. Especially considering the astronomical numbers and impact Taylor had on his Giants teams.

That said, Parsons himself has arguably has just as much or a greater impact on this Cowboys team, making 120 total tackles, 21 sacks, 29 tackles for loss, 44 quarterback hits, five forced fumbles, five passes defended, and one defensive touchdown in just one and a half seasons.

Over that same timeframe, Taylor had 17 sacks as well as one fumble recovery and two interceptions. Though, Taylor did have 133 total tackles in his rookie campaign.
