Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons expects big things from the front office this offseason after Jerry and Stephen Jones received lots of backlash from fans and the media for failing to make significant upgrades to the roster last offseason after Jerry Jones said, 'We'll be all-in.'
"I think it's going to be a great offseason, I do think we're going to attack free agency," Parsons said Monday on his Bleacher Report podcast. ... "It's going to be a super exciting year. That's why I say, Cowboys nation, it looks bad right now and we're turning it up, but it's about to go to a whole other level. I hope y'all are really paying attention and y'all wake up because it's about to get real exciting."
Despite Parsons' optimism, fans may not want to take the All-Pro pass rusher's advice after Stephen Jones indicated that the organization was in for another slow offseason next year.
“I think we knew we were gonna have a challenge in [2024] and [2025]. It’s gonna be really, really tight," Jones said bluntly at the NFL league meetings last week, via Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "We still have some money left over from guys who are not here today, and you’re gonna have some other guys that won’t be here in the future that you’re still gonna have their cap count.”
As for Parsons' future in Dallas, which the NFL Network recently reported was in question, Parsons agrees with the Joneses that he'll be in Dallas for a long time.
"Y'all know I'm going to be a Cowboy for life," Parsons said. "We're going to figure out a way for me to be a Cowboy for life and I think Jerry and Stephen see it that way, too."
