Shan & RJ react to Micah Parsons' postgame comments about Mike McCarthy
Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons made some eye-opening comments when asked about head coach Mike McCarthy's job security following Dallas' 34-6 blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
"That's above my pay grade about if Mike is coaching again next year. All coaching aside, Mike can leave and go wherever he wants, but guys I kind of feel bad for (are) guys like Zack Martin and guys who might be on their last year or on their way out. That's who I wanted to hold the trophy for. You want to win games and do great things with those type of legends who put in more time and work that Mike McCarthy ever did. Those are the kind of guys that I have so much sympathy and hurt for," Parsons said.
Parsons' comments went viral postgame and became one of the top stories on ESPN and several other media sites on Monday morning. Panelists including former NFL head coach Rex Ryan and former NFL offensive lineman Damien Woody blasted Parsons on ESPN's 'Get Up.'
"You're giving up all kinds of stuff in your life. And you're gonna get some ass -- I don't care how talented he is, that is absolutely BS," Ryan said. "If you would've worked half as frickin hard as a damn coach does, maybe you'd be able to play every damn game. Maybe your team wouldn't just be a bunch of punks and lay down every week like you're doing... it's a crock sh-- you know what."
Parsons responded to the blowback he got from ESPN and other outlets on Monday morning and appeared to say that he won't be speaking with the media following games because his words were misconstrued.
"Loll damm yeah ima just eat the fine for now on! Because the way yall twist words and flip them around for content is nasty work!
"You would think guys who played and coached the sport would have better journalism!! But I was very wrong!! They trying to use my name image and likeness with dallas cowboys to continue to tear the beautiful organization with drama and bad media attentions! Be better @GetUpESPN."
Parsons will further address his comments later Monday on his podcast, he said.
Shan, RJ and Bobby reacted to what Parsons said and the blowback he's received on 105.3 The Fan.
