With that being said, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy provided some updates on a few players who suffered injuries on Monday night and their chances of practicing this week leading up to the Divisional Round matchup against the 49ers on Sunday.

Jason Peters, who got the start at left tackle in the Wild Card game, exited late in the second quarter with a hip injury. His status appears to be of most concern to the Cowboys this week. Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy indicated during his visit with the media on Tuesday that Peters is unlikely to practice on Wednesday.

105.3 The Fan's Bryan Broaddus reported on the GBag Nation on Tuesday that Peters has a "hip flexor problem that will probably keep him out for a little bit." Broaddus went on to say that he doesn't "think" Peters will be able to play Sunday against the Niners.

Should Peters not be able to go, Connor McGovern will slide in at left guard, while rookie Tyler Smith will shift back to left tackle, a position he's played most of the season.

McCarthy was able to provide some good news when it comes to the injury statuses of safeties Jayron Kearse (knee) and Israel Mukuamu (hamstring).

"JK (Kearse) has a knee injury. We won't do a whole lot tomorrow, just because we're coming off of the Monday night game. We'll be in a walk-through phase. He may be able to participate in that. ... I think Israel is going to be fine. I think he's going to practice," McCarthy said.

Kearse, who has been a key contributor to Dan Quinn's stout defense, intercepted Tom Brady in the end zone in the first quarter on Monday. Mukuamu, who was inactive against Washington in Week 18, stepped in as the Cowboys' nickel cornerback in passing down situations on Monday.
