Bobby Belt discusses what he's hearing about McCarthy & Zimmer's Cowboys' futures

Bobby Belt's Mike McCarthy confidence return meter has sky-rocketed following his trip to Philadelphia to witness the Cowboys' blowout loss at the hands of the Eagles.

"The more you talk to people, it feels like everybody's sense around the team is that he's going to be back," Belt said Monday on Shan and RJ. Nobody knows [what the Joneses are going to do], so everybody is just reading tea leaves around the star. ... I haven't talked to anybody in the last week who has said they think he's out. ... Everyone has said to some extent, 'I think he's back.'"

With McCarthy's return becoming more likely, does that increase defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer's chances of being brought back? Not exactly, says Belt.

"The other sense you're getting from people is that Zimmer will not be back," Belt said.

And why would Zimmer not return after he turned the defense around in the middle of the season?
