Defensive back Logan Ryan won't be joining the Cowboys.
Michael Eisen of Giants.com reports that the G-Men have agreed to terms with Ryan, contingent upon him clearing COVID-19 protocols and passing a physical, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reporting that the deal is a one-year pact worth $7.5 million.
Ryan has spent the past three seasons in Tennessee but spent his first four years in New England, while new Giants head coach Joe Judge was the Patriots’ special teams coach. The Berlin, N.J. native and Rutgers product has played 109 career games in seven seasons, notching 522 tackles (374 solo), 17 interceptions, eight forced fumbles, and 78 passed defensed.
Nominally a cornerback, Ryan led all corners in total tackles, assisted tackles, sacks, and tackles for loss in 2019, but he has apparently expressed interest in playing safety as well.
Originally selected by New England at No. 83 overall in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Ryan won two Super Bowls in New England (XLIX and LI), and also was with the Titans team last season that defeated the Pats en route to the AFC Championship Game.
