The cuts across the NFL have begun and a former big-name Patriot is one of them.
According to multiple reports, the Titans have released cornerback Malcolm Butler, which really isn't much of a surprise given his contract. He was going to count $14.2 million against the cap this season and the release clears $10.2 million in cap space.
Butler played three seasons in Tennessee after signing a five-year, $61 million deal a few offseasons ago.
He finished last season with four interceptions, which tied a career high, 14 passes defended and 100 tackles in 16 games.
There likely will be interest from a few teams, but certainly not at the figure he was scheduled to make.
