DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - In search of a replacement for Matt Rhule, the Carolina Panthers have requested permission to interview Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, according to a report from ESPN's Todd Archer.
Moore has been the architect of a Cowboys offense that has been one of the NFL's best over the last two seasons.
In four seasons with Moore calling the plays, quarteback Dak Prescott has had two of the best statistical seasons of his career, throwing for 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2019, and 4,449 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2021.
In 2020, before his season ending injury, Prescott also threw for 1,856 yards and nine touchdowns in just four and a half games, which would have put him on pace for the best statistical season in NFL history.
The running game has also thrived under Moore, finishing as a top-10 rushing offense in the NFL in three of his four seasons.
