105.3 The Fan, 1080 KRLD and the entire Audacy Dallas family lost our beloved colleague Ted Nichols-Payne on Sunday. He was just 56-years-old.
Nichols-Payne worked for 31 years at Audacy (formerly CBS Radio) as an engineer. He was the primary engineer and technical director on Rangers' radio broadcasts from 1995-2010, first on 1080 KRLD and then on 105.3 The Fan. He resumed that role when the Rangers' radio rights returned to The Fan in 2015.
Nichols-Payne was also the radio network engineer for the Dallas Cowboys.
He leaves behind three daughters - Zoe, Emma, and Anika - whom he loved dearly.
The hosts from 105.3 The Fan and others in the media are paying tribute to TNP on social and on-air this week.
Very sad to hear of the passing of Ted Nichols-Payne. He was the type of guy that would take several French fries off your plate before you even took a bite of your meal but you just didn’t care. He was that great of a guy. Going to feel lost without him.
