DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys added another name to their list of defensive coordinator candidates on Saturday, with the team reportedly set to interview Atlanta Falcons secondary coach, Joe Whitt Jr., for the job.

Whitt, who was with Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy in Green Bay from 2008-2018 in various positions, spent the majority of his time (2009-2017) with the Packers as the cornerbacks coach.

He then moved to the defensive passing game coordinator in 2018, before leaving Green Bay to take over as the Cleveland Browns secondary coach and defensive passing game coordinator in 2019.

Finally, Whitt took over the same job in Atlanta, where the Falcons ranked last in the NFL in passing yards surrendered, and in the bottom 10 in opponent's quarterback rating, opponents completions percentage, and opponents passings touchdowns.

Whitt Jr. has never served as a defensive coordinator in his 20-plus-year coaching career.
