DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys' safety-turned-linebacker Keanu Neal has agreed to a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced Wednesday. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Neal, who converted to linebacker in Cowboys' defensive coordinator Dan Quinn's system in 2021, will return to the safety spot, the position he played during the first five seasons of his career with the Atlanta Falcons.

Neal, 26, had 72 tackles and a sack in 14 appearances for the Cowboys last season. For his career, he has 410 tackles, two interceptions, two sacks and four fumble recoveries.

The Cowboys will look to add more depth to their linebacker room through the NFL Draft and the rest of the offseason. Second-year linebacker Jabril Cox is expected to take on a bigger role next season alongside Micah Parsons and Leighton Vander Esch.
