Free agent linebacker Shaquille Leonard left North Texas without a deal with the Dallas Cowboys after visiting with the organization on Tuesday at the team's headquarters at The Star, according to multiple reports.

Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Cowboys and Leonard had "a good visit," and Leonard leaving without an agreement "is not an indictment against the Cowboys," as the linebacker had told other suitors that he would visit them before making a decision.

“We will see where it ends up," said Hill's source.

It's unknown if the three-time First Team All-Pro has any visits scheduled with teams besides the Philadelphia Eagles, whom he's expected to be visiting on Wednesday, according to John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report says that the Eagles are "eager" to get
Leonard into their building with the hopes of signing him for the remainder of the season, and adds that Leonard is expected to make a decision about his future this weekend.

Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones was asked Tuesday in his weekly appearance on Shan and RJ on 105.3 The Fan if the Eagles’ reported interest in Leonard presented a “don’t let him out of the building without a contract” situation.

“Doesn’t surprise me at all. I don’t know that you need to stop there,” Jones said. “There are probably several teams he can make a contribution to, and this thing probably does not have a financial aspect to it as far as competition between the teams. …

“We’ve got a pretty attractive situation for any player, because of not only the way we’re playing, but just the awe of the Cowboys and our fanbase and this area,” Jones later said. “This area is a tremendously attractive area for any player, and so many of these players come from within striking distance of Dallas.”
