Cowboys place Branding Cooks on injured reserve

The Dallas Cowboys will be without Brandin Cooks for at least the next four games as the team placed the wide receiver on injured reserve.

Cooks developed an infection in his knee after receiving an injection following the Cowboys' win over the New York Giants last week. The infection resulted in Cooks needing a procedure by Cowboys' team physician, Dr. Cooper, who cleaned out the knee and smoothed out the meniscus issue.

Cooks will now miss games against the Steelers, Lions, 49ers and Falcons and isn't eligible to play until Nov. 10 against the Eagles.

Cooks was initially only set to miss one game, but during Dallas Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones' visit with the GBag Nation on Friday, he admitted that he's expected to miss multiple weeks

"He's going to miss some games now and we'll move forward. But there's nothing to add other than that," Jones said on the GBag Nation.
