Stephen Jones Says Cowboys "Won't Rule Anything Out" When It Comes To The Safety Position

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - After releasing recently signed veteran safety HaHa Clinton-Dix, the Dallas Cowboys depth at safety suddenly became a question mark.

Despite the fact that they do have some experience at the position, are rumored to be moving corner back Chidobe Awuzie to the position, and have moved rookie Reggie Robinson II there as well, Dallas could certainly stand to add another experienced veteran body to the mix.

The Cowboys have been very publicly rumored to be in the running to sign former Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens safety Earl Thomas, though nothing concrete has surfaced in that regard as of yet.

According to Cowboys COO Stephen Jones during his Thursday visit with GBAG nation, however, the team will 'not rule anything out' when it comes to improving the position.

"It just felt like at the end of the day for what we were trying to get done that we needed to go in another direction," Jones told 105.3 The Fan's GBAG Nation. "Of course, as I always say, we're always in the market 365 days a year to improve this football team, and thats what we'll we'll continue to do."

"Obviously, I won't speak to any specific players, but we'll be in the market to improve our football team," Jones continued when asked about Thomas. "We're certainly going to look at all avenues as we move forward here, and wouldn't rule anything out."
