DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys did an admirable job of adding to their defensive line talent and depth this past offseason, first adding Gerald McCoy, then Dontari Poe, Aldon Smith, and more recently, Everson Griffen.
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, when McCoy went down with a season ending injury in practice earlier this month, they looked to be back to the drawing board, at least in the depth department, at defensive tackle.
However, when joining 105.3 The Fan's K&C Masterpiece on Monday, Cowboys COO Stephen Jones painted a bit of a different picture, giving a glowing review to second-year defensive tackle's progress so far in camp.
"The other one that has really, which we more than ever now, but he has certainly answered the bell, Trysten Hill has really shown up in practice, and consistent, and just doing a great job for us," Jones said. "Sometimes its just hard on rookies, and what they have to go through to get on the field. Some are able to get it done, and digest it and do it, but Rod can give them some tough love, and sometimes some players don't respond well to the tough love. I know he was inactive some, and was limited on his playtime when he was active, but boy he has really come on along, and certainly with Gerald going down has stepped into that role, and so far has just put one really good practice after the other, the last few days."
