DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys rookie quarterback Ben DiNucci is all-but assured to make his first career NFL start against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.

Dallas listed Andy Dalton as "doubtful" for the game on their final injury report Friday, elevating DiNucci into the starting spot with Dak Prescott already lost for the season.

DiNucci's teammates have praised the James Madison product throughout the week, and Cowboys COO Stephen Jones even says the quarterback's release on this throws reminds him of Tony Romo.

"You certainly like his movement. He’s a good athlete. He moves well. He’s actually got 10-inch hands. He can get his hands around the ball good. He can sling it from a lot of angles. Reminds me a little Romo-esque that way in terms of how he can release the ball from different angles," Jones said on the GBag Nation on 105.3 The Fan.

And what happens if DiNucci has a big game in Philadelphia and Dalton is ready to return next week?

“Well, Andy is our guy. It will be his job when he gets back.”
