The Cowboys are officially in the market for a new starting running back as Tony Pollard has agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract with the Tennessee Titans, Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Aaron Wilson of KPRC was the first to report on the agreement.
Pollard leaves Dallas just one year after the Cowboys placed the franchise tag worth $10 million on him despite coming off a procedure to repair a broken fibula. He struggled most of the season, failing to show the same burst he had in his first four seasons in Dallas, before appearing to regain some of that burst toward the end of the season.
Pollard rushed for 1,005 yards, six touchdowns and averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry in 2023.
Dallas will now focus on adding one of the other notable free-agent running backs this offseason and will likely select a back in next month's draft. Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs are among the free-agent backs who are available.
