Trevon Diggs to undergo season-ending surgery
It appears that the Dallas Cowboys are going to be without their top corner for an extended period of time.
According to Cowboys COO Stephen Jones before kick off against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, cornerback Trevon Diggs is set to undergo knee surgery to repair torn cartilage in his knee, and is expected to miss at least eight months.
"Its a cartilage issue that finally came loose on him, and so unfortunately we're going to do surgery on that," Jones said to Dallas Cowboys.com. "It's gonna take a little time for him to get back, probably eight months. But he'll get in there just like any of the other guys and go through the rehab and be ready to go.''
Diggs injured the knee on Monday Night Football against the Bengals, but was able to play through the injury.
However, after further evaluation, it was determined that surgery would be required, ending his season.
The eight month timeline would see Diggs not being able to return to action until August, and could potentially put the start of the 2025 season in jeopardy.
Diggs has 42 total tackles and two interceptions this season.
