The Dallas Cowboys continued what feels like an annual tradition of picking an offensive lineman in the first round of the NFL Draft when the team selected Alabama guard Tyler Booker with the No. 12 overall pick on Thursday night.
Booker, who recently turned 21 on April 12, has some big shoes to fill in Dallas. The junior from New Haven, Connecticut, will replace one of the best offensive linemen in NFL history, Zack Martin, who retired in March after 11 stellar seasons.
Booker made 27 starts in his three seasons with the Crimson Tide, with 26 coming at left guard and one at left tackle. He was named a first-team All-American in 2024.
Booker joined the Draft Show on 105.3 The Fan and spoke about being selected by the Cowboys.
"I'm so blessed to be a Cowboy. I'm a football fanatic. I love the game of football. I'm excited to get to work and bring us back to where we should be - America's Team," Booker said.
The Cowboys have now selected three offensive linemen named Tyler in the first round of three of the last four drafts. Dallas took left guard Tyler Smith in the 2022 draft and left tackle Tyler Guyton in 2024.
Booker spoke about this love for football, the pre-draft process with the Cowboys' coaching staff, & much more.
