The Dallas Cowboys are losing another top defensive assistant to the Washington Commanders, with defensive line coach Sharrif Floyd set to join Dan Quinn at his new job, according to reports.
According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, who was first with the report, Floyd will join Quinn in Washington under the same role he currently occupies in Dallas.
Under Floyd in Dallas ranked 13th in the NFL in sacks with 46 - 14 of which came from star linebacker and pass rusher Micah Parsons. Dallas also got 7.5 from Dorance Armstrong and 4.5 from Sam Williams, while DeMarcus Lawrence added four.
Dallas also ranked fifth in the NFL in total defense, allowing just 299.8 yards per game, fifth in pass defense, allowing 187.4 yards per contest, and 16th in run defense, allowing 112.4 yards per game.
With Cowboys defensive assistant Aden Durde heading to the Seattle Seahawks as the new defensive coordinator, Dallas likely will begin an outside search to replace Floyd under the own new defensive coordinator, Mike Zimmer.
