DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks submitted an offer sheet for restricted free agent wing Matisse Thybulle late on Wednesday, hoping to add him to the rotation in 2023.
However, according to reports, the Blazers have now matched that offer sheet, with Thybulle now set to return to Portland on a three-year $33 million deal.
The had Mavs hoped for Thybulle to be the second big Mavs move in the last 24 hours, with the team trading for Celtics three-and D wing Grant Williams on Wednesday night.
Last season, Thybulle played 22 games with Portland last season after being traded from the 76ers at the trade deadline, and averaged 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.7 steals. He also shot 38 percent from deep.
Thybulle is also a two-time All-NBA Defensive Team selection.
