DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to terms on a contract to bring back center Dwight Powell on a three-year deal that is worth $12 million, according to multiple reports.

Powell, who began his career with the Celtics in 2014-15, was originally traded to Dallas as part of the infamous Rajon Rondo deal, and has been a key part of the franchise ever since.

Powell has now spent nine seasons in Dallas, playing in 582 games, and starting 243 of those games, averaging 7.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and hitting almost 60 percent from the floor.

He will now return to a different looking Mavs front court, that includes Richaun Holmes and newly drafted, Dereck Lively II.

Powell now becomes the third free agency transaction the Mavs have made since the window opened, with the first being the new contract for Kyrie Irving on Friday, and the second being the signing of Seth Curry.
